Jack Gonzalez

Jack Gonzalez is an avid fisherman and environmentalist from the Bay Area. During the Covid lockdown, he began watching fishing videos and teaching himself how to fish. Local Bay Area YouTubers like Fisherman’s Life, ChrisPFish, and Die Hard Fishing helped influence his understanding of the sport and its benefits. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and hanging out with his friends. He runs the Bishop O’Dowd Fishing Appreciation and Conservation Club and works as a habitat restoration intern at SPAWN. He has always been interested in environmental conservation, including the protection of endangered Coho salmon and the elimination of plastic pollution. After noticing the extent of plastic bottle cap pollution on his local beaches, he decided to take action, creating his campaign “Stop the Caps” to pass tethered bottle cap legislation in California.
