About Jennifer

Jennifer Tabanico owns and operates Action Research, a firm that specializes in applying behavioral science principles and community-based social marketing to address a wide range of environmental behavior changes, including those impacting climate, water, biodiversity, and waste. For over 20 years, she has worked with government agencies, private companies, and community organizations worldwide. Her work has been published in the Journal of Environmental Psychology, Social Influence, Energy, and Social Marketing Quarterly. She has also contributed chapters to books on producer responsibility, hazardous waste management, social marketing, and applied social psychology. Jennifer is co-author of Fostering Sustainable Behavior (4th edition). Since 2016, she has served as an instructor for the Behavior Change and Sustainability Certificate Program at UCSD Extended Studies. She has an MA in Experimental Psychology from Cal State San Marcos.
