About Judith

Judith Toepel is the Founder of reInterpret, a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit she established in 2009 to foster creative reuse and educational engagement. Through reInterpret, Judith partners with educators, artists, and community organizations to design and deliver innovative programs, team-building experiences, and workshops that encourage participants to see ideas, challenges, and learning through new lenses.
Inspired by childhood memories of playing with wood cut-offs, egg cartons and empty first aid tape rolls, Judith created reInterpret as a means to reuse some of the waste that her trade, commercial interior design and construction, produced. Her responsibilities at reInterpret include mission and program development, and the facilitation of educational and collaborative experiences. She is particularly skilled at translating abstract concepts into accessible, meaningful programs that generate lasting impact.
Judith’s work reflects a deep commitment to waste reduction and learner-centered education — cornerstones of reInterpret’s mission to create a community culture of reuse.
