Melissa Pérez

Melissa joined the Republic Services team in March 2024 as a Sustainability Advisor where she provides support in meeting the contractual needs of the City of Chula Vista, City of San Diego, and the County of San Diego franchise agreements. A key component of her role is connecting and engaging with customers and the community to provide education regarding proper disposal practices.

Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Barbara and a Masters in Climate Science and Policy from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. As a Sustainability Advisor, she provides guidance and strategic advice on sustainability initiatives, policies, and practices.
