About Jessica

Jessica is the Executive Director of Solana Center for Environmental Innovation, which serves southern California with a vision of landfills free of edible and compostable material, operationalized by Solana Center’s role designing innovative compost solutions and consulting with food businesses. In the ‘80s, Solana Center established one of the first curbside recycling programs in the US and is now central to implementing food waste prevention and diversion in the San Diego region.

Solana Center and Jessica have received awards for environmental leadership, including, most recently, US Composting Council’s Organics Diversion Program of the Year (2023) and San Diego Business Journal’s 50 Over 50 Women of Influence in San Diego (2022).

Jessica has held positions in research, marketing, and process improvement at various companies, including her software start-up. She has a master’s in business from MIT and a bachelor’s from Cornell in Engineering.
